Zwingenberg sits directly north of Bensheim and is one of the oldest towns on the Bergstrasse. For riders from Zwingenberg, my studio is only a few minutes away. You work directly with me, Lloyd Thomas, in every session.
At the foot of the Melibokus, many riders here head uphill regularly. On a climb it shows quickly when a position works on the flat but becomes unsteady under load.
Why a stable position matters on the climb
On a climb the load on the knees, back and hips goes up. If the pelvis tips or the foot has no clean support, power is lost and pain starts more easily. I look for the cause behind the painful point, not just the point itself.
The session for riders from below the Melibokus
Zwingenberg sits only a few minutes north of Bensheim, right at the foot of the Melibokus, the highest Odenwald summit nearby. Many riders from here start their steep, short climbs almost from their front door. That is exactly what I focus on in the session: after the movement screen, I look at how your position reacts once the gradient bites, not just how it looks on the flat. Does the pelvis tip, does the foot lose support, does the upper body get restless? I adjust saddle, cleats and cockpit under that same load and work through the changes in a sensible order, so you are not left juggling five open issues at once. You leave with a fit report and the final measurements. I describe the full process at Bike Fitting in Bensheim.
